NEWS - Nov. 6th, 2008: Official Opening of the New MX/ATV Track
The new motocross and ATV track has been inaugurated this weekend by JSR and Marc-Antoine Généreux during our first Hare&Scramble event. For now the track is 1 km long and is quite technical. The track is open everyday from 10am until dusk. The weather should be nice this week, make good use of these last days and come test our track. Exceptionnaly this year, because we are still working on the tracks, the cost for adults will remain 20$ and 12$ for kids younger than 16.
We are also actively working on our PeeWee track which should be ready in a few days.
NEWS - Nov. 2nd, 2008: XTown Hare and Scramble event results
Firstly, we would like to thank all our volunteers who helped us make this first event at XTown a reality. Being ready on time required many hours from many people during the last week. We would also like to thank Jean-Sébastien Roy and Marc-Antoine Généreux who showed us what it truly means to be on the gas. These guys go through great lengths to promote the sport and their presence is always appreciated, as was certainly the case for all folks present at the event.
The day went very well considering that: the motocross track was completed the night before the event, it was built in 1 week and we have only been opened for 3 weeks. On top of it all, 90mm of rain fell in the area in the past few days and Guy Giroux had to work extra hard to modify the track and make it the driest possible event.
Over 100 participants showed up for the event on Sunday. Some preferred to stay on the motocross track without participating in the timed event but most went on the hare and scramble track which was linked to the motocross track for the event. The lap record was ran by Guy Giroux who ran a time of 8m29 seconds, we can say his Suzuki was at its limit.
Following are the times for all 4 classes: Results XTown November 2nd, 2008.
The winner of each class won a 100$ gift certificate at XTown. Winners can claim their prize at XTown.
The Iron man for the event is M. Francois Geoffrion who completed 10 laps. Congratulations !
We would like to thank all participants and also our partners who have contributed to more the 50 attendance prizes :

Finally, we would like to thank Hemish Miller from Xtreme Miller Sport in Mont-Tremblant who, with his Bobcat, built a temporary PeeWee track in no time as well as helping maintaining the track during the event.
NEWS - Oct. 14th, 2008: The first Hare & Scramble track is now available at XTown.
The track was designed by none other than M. Guy Giroux himself over the past couple of weeks. It takes around 10 minutes to complete a lap around this dirt and sand loop. The track has 2 expert sections but yet is accessible to most riders. At this time of the year, the scenery is incredible in the Mirabel forest, come by to see us.
- Track opening is Thursday October 16th 2008.
- The track will be opened 7 days a week from 10H00 to 17H00.
- 16250 Rang Saint-Dominique, exit 39 highway 15. Detailed map.
- Complete equipment is required, including chest protector.
- Cost is 20$ per adult and 12$ per kid younger than 16 (cash only).
Note: For now, only bikes are accepted at XTown as our ATV track is not ready yet. If you have questions, please email us at info@xtown.ca. In the next couple of days we will update our WEB site with a video produced by the Giroux brothers showing the Hare & Scamble track layout and experience.
NEWS - SEPT 20th, 2008 - XTown is born.
Welcome to our news page. We are glad you are reading us; it finally means that the XTown project is underway. Actually the project has been underway for over a year and a half now but, as many of you know, a project of this magnitude takes several months of preparation. The number of rules, regulations, permits and overhead required to start something like this is simply overwhelming.
First and foremost, I would like to thank my wife Julie for putting up with me during the last year and a half. Starting something like this is simply nerve wrecking, there are many things out of your control, so many people with the power to say no and stop the show. In spite of all this, it seems we made it through, I checked in the closet and her clothes are still there! This must be a sign. Also my daughters Marie-Eve and Audrey-Ann have been of great support through the tough times.
There are many other people who helped us, my dad, my brother, my sister and many of our friends also chipped in: Stéphane Bédard, Jean-Marc Berthiaume, Martin Gauthier, Michel Archambeault, Shawn Archambeault, La Famille Raposo, Stéphane Alary, Danik Demontigny, Geneviève Lemay, Jean-Francois Lacombe, Josée Petit, Jérome St-Gelais, Patrick Bisaillon, Angelo Liberatore, Hugo Vallières, Christian Poitras, Maxime Poitras, Francis Bédard, Frédérik Labre, Nancy Parisella and Jean-Marc Lalande were all off great help.
On the municipal side we must thank the mayor of Mirabel Hubert Meilleur for his support. Jean-Luc Riopel of the Mirabel CLD has also been of great help from the start of the project and, the CLD of Mirabel is by far the best CLD we have dealt with. Finally, we would like to thank all members of the municipal counsel who supported our project.
Through our year and a half of hard work we have dealt with many suppliers. Finding reliable ones is always tough and most certainly critical in a project of this size. Following is the list of reliable suppliers/partners we dealt with and helped us get where we are:
Zonage.com, Horizon Multiressources biologist, Jean-Marc Coursol Architect, MIR Tech Engineer, LVM Technisol, Perron, Hudon et Bélanger Arpenteur, Howard Constructions, Coverall Building Systems, Centre du Sport Alary, Mototown USA, Earlywines Indoor MX, Traductions Miratext, No Such Animal Inc, Ignition Product Inc, Sortimage, Synchronous WEB design and Marketing, LDAC Communication, Motos Illimitées, AMB transponders, Series tracker, Miller Excavation, Banque de Développement du Canada, CIBC, RBC, Location Hewitt, Sylvestre Roy Accountants, Jérome St-Gelais Notary et Prévost Auclair Fortin d'Aoust lawyers.
Construction is set to start on the week of Sept 29th. The first step is landscaping as the land we purchased is essentially a large forest; hence hours and hours of prep work are required for the construction workers. Our priority is the main building which will be the riding facility for dirt bikes and ATV's. The Dome we are building is simply huge and the ground is not so even so we expect many gallons of fuel to be burned to make this a reality.
Our second priority is the administration building which will be located closest to the rang St-Dominique at the entry of the site. At the same time we will also prepare for the outdoor tracks and get a head start for spring 2009. As you can imagine, with all that needs to be done, we are hoping that snow is a bit late this year….
